A review of the excellent budslife CBD Patches.

We were recently given the opportunity to try some of the budslife CBD patches, which we were both really interested to try. As we have both tried CBD oil in the past, and weren’t overly impressed with it, we wanted to try it in a different form.

In your pack, you receive 16 individual patches and each patch contains 16mg of CBD (Cannabidiol) oil (it’s also worth noting there is absolutely no THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) in the patches). They are all fully adhesive, and stick extremely well to your body – so much so you really have to peel them off at the end of the day! I personally liked this, as it meant I wasn’t worried about the patches coming unstuck.

The patches work by delivering the CBD oil directly into your system, and the oil also contains ingredients that help penetrate your skin faster and to be absorbed quicker. If you’re interested in reading more, there’s a whole host of information over on their website. CBD is supposed to be extremely beneficial for helping with anxiety, stress and just your general wellbeing – and we’re always up for trying something that will help with those things!

Mark and I both found we had pretty polar opposite experiences with trying these patches. Mark found that throughout his 16 days, it didn’t really effect him much in any particular way. He found that occasionally in the evening he would have a headache, when he wouldn’t normally suffer with one. Other than that his experience from day 1 to day 16 was pretty much the same across the board.

However, I found the experience much more positive.

The patches actually arrived about a week before I was due on my period, and I find that during this time my anxiety sky rockets. I also find that the week before my period: I feel extremely run down, I end up with toothache and jaw ache and the run down feeling usually continues whilst on my period (and usually a migraine is thrown into the mix).

I noticed pretty early on that my premenstrual anxiety wasn’t half as bad as it usually would have been around that time in my cycle, I also usually feel extremely nauseous around this time due to the anxiety – but it was nowhere near as bad this month.

One thing that is worth noting if you have periods – it can effect your cycle. I track my cycles, and since having Grayson mine have been between 27-29 days. This month my cycle was 34 days, which you can imagine did give me some anxiety for a while!
However, Mark and I then discovered that this is actually a very common side effect when using CBD in any form.

When my period starts, I tend to get a migraine in the first few days (usually day 1-3). This month there was no migraine, and considering I’ve had one at the beginning of my period the last 6-7 months and I’ve done nothing different, I do believe it was down to using the patches.

The patches retail at £14.99, which for 16 of them I don’t think is half bad – overall, I was really impressed with them and won’t hesitate using again in the future.

These patches are available here. As with anything like this, please ensure they are right for you, and if you’re unsure, always seek medical advice before using them. Whilst you’re here, you can read our other reviews and options here.
