When it reaches December, I think a number of people in the UK start to think about what Christmas adverts retailers are going to put out. It’s become such a big part of Christmas for a lot of households in recent years, and it’s always interesting to find out what adverts people like. So we obviously had to do a Blogmas post on our favourite festive adverts in recent years!
In this Post.....
Christmas Adverts
Apple 2019
This is probably my top Christmas advert, when I saw this last year it made me so emotional. I know Apple as a company are massive, but I don’t think they’re necessarily considered for their adverts.
So when I saw this one and realised it was for Apple, I was so impressed. If you haven’t seen it, then I would really recommend giving it a watch. It’s very simple, but such a beautiful sentiment.
IRN-BRU 2007
If you’re a fan of The Snowman or IRN-BRU, then you’ll probably remember this ad. This was one of Marks choices, because it seems to make him laugh every time he watches it.
Amazon 2020
I really am a sucker for a big corporation Christmas advert aren’t I? This has to be in a close second, when I saw this advert late last month I felt in love with it. I love the music, I love the ballet and I love the story behind it.
John Lewis 2015
I think this is a Christmas advert that a lot of people think about when they think about festive adverts from over the years. It’s a beautifully done advert, and the story behind it and the music make it so heart warming. I can see why it’s Mark’s favourite.
I’ve also seen a lot of people say that this would have been the perfect advert for 2020 as well, as it sums up the pandemic and social distancing.
Sainsbury’s 2018
I had to throw in this honourable mention, because it’s a brilliant Christmas advert. It’s so cute, and I love all the kid’s, the costumes and the song choice. My personal favourite bit is the little girl dressed as a plug, that jumps into the wall. A moment that the British people can never forget.
What would you say is your favourite Christmas advert and why?
