Interviewing our toddler

| | ,

I was trying to come up with a different blog post to do, and thought as a big part of our blog is to do with being parents, that it would make sense to introduce the boy that made that possible!

interviewing our toddler

Grayson is 2 (3 in April) and such a sweet little soul, that while we were playing I decided to do a little mock interview with him and ask him some questions to see what answers I would get.

So without further ado!

  1. What’s your name?
    “My name is Grayson.”
  2. What nicknames do you have?
“Thomas” *he then proceeded to laugh, because this isn’t true in the slightest* “Mummy and daddy call me G and sweetness”
  3. How old are you?
“I’m 5” *I asked him if he was sure on this, and he said he was*
  4. How old are mummy and daddy?
“You’re 5” *I asked him again if he was sure on this, and he said he was*
  5. What’s daddy’s job?
    “He works for Liverpool”
  6. What’s mummy’s job?
“You work” *He isn’t wrong, but I don’t blame him for finding what I do boring*
  7. What job do you want to do when you grow up?
“A nurse and I want to work with granny and Grandad”
  8. Where do you live?
“In April, because April is my absolute best”
  9. What’s your favourite colour?
    “It’s Blue!!”
  10. Who is your best friend?
    “Ari!”
  11. What is your favourite song?
“I like nursery rhymes” *I was slightly disappointed with this answer, because he’s got a very varied music taste. So I was hoping for a more interesting answer*
  12. What’s your favourite film?
    “Cars!”
  13. Which Cars film?
“I like all of them mummy”
  14. Whats your favourite tv show to watch?
“CBeebies, but my favourite is the swashbuckle one.”
  15. If you could go on holiday anywhere, where would you go?
“To my trains” *I asked if he was sure, and he said he was. So that’s the cheapest daily holiday ever*
  16. What’s your favourite food?
    “Garlic bread and Yorkie pud”
  17. What doesn’t Grayson like to eat?
“Broccoli, peas, carrots. All the vegetables I don’t like”
  18. What makes you happy?
“Blind bags and trains! I do like trains, I’m obsessed with trains. I keep going on about grandads trains” *He then proceeded to tell me about trains for 5 minutes*
  19. What makes you sad?
“When I go to nursery, because I can’t remember everyone’s names”
  20. Are you scared of anything?
“A scary thing. Because I don’t like scary things, because I go ooooh, I don’t like it”
  21. What are you good at?
“I’m good at daddy’s records and I’m good at nursery”
  22. What’s something mummy always says to you?
“Calm down & try again and you are such a good boy Grayson!”
  23. What’s something daddy always says to you?
“Calm down and take a deep breathe”
  24. What is love?
“Love is Grayson” *he’s not wrong”

I did try to ask him more questions after this but he just kept saying “no more questions mummy, because he has such a hard life. I might have to do this more frequently, because it’s so interesting finding out certain things from a child’s perspective.

If you haven’t done this, I would definitely recommend doing an interview with your children. If you have any questions you think we should ask Grayson in future, put them below!
