We love coffee – and let’s be honest, most of us do! For months, we’ve been sticking to the same beans, and I’ll be totally honest, my taste buds need something different now. That’s where the coffee subscription service from Blue Coffee Box ticks the boxes for us.

What is Blue Coffee Box?
Blue Coffee Box is a Gourmet Coffee Subscription service – offering a variety of ethically sourced coffee on a subscription basis – meaning you don’t need to worry about running out ever again, and more importantly, you can try new and exciting blends!
You can select your schedule, roast and grind, so you can be sure that the product you receive is exactly what you need. We have a bean-to-cup coffee machine, so we received whole bean coffee that we can grind as required. The other awesome part of the Blue Coffee Box coffee subscription service is that it fits through your letterbox – so even if you’re out, the coffee will be there waiting for you when you get back home!
Deliveries can be either every two weeks, every month, or every two months. So don’t worry about being overloaded with Coffee if you don’t drink that much – you can pick the subscription to suit your needs. The coffee arrives in 100% plastic-free, compostable packaging – so there’s literally no waste at all (and remember, the used grinds work wonders on your garden!) You can select your roast, and have decaf, if you require.
Growers who provide their beans to Blue Coffee receive around 30% more for their beans compared to the Fair trade price – knowing that something we now take for granted is supporting the growers is really important.
What do you get?
You can customise what you receive in your Blue Coffee Box Coffee Subscription, whether thats one bag or two each time, ground coffee or beans. The Blue Coffee Box offers different blends and roasts each month – so you can really embrace the tasting journey and experience new coffee tastes. The coffee is 100% speciality arabica coffee beans from countries all over the world, ethically-sourced and freshly hand-roasted in the UK. Each delivery comes with an information card about your specific blend, so instead of just chucking it down your throat, you can understand the journey your coffee has taken, from seed to bean.
We received the Ketiara Womens Cooperative bean, from the only women-led cooperative in Coffee trading in Indonesia. It has notes of Chocolate, Sage and Thyme, and really is a lovely brew. The other, Mauricio Barbosa / Campbell & Syme, is from a 114-hectare estate in Brazil, which supports 32 families during the harvest, providing work to pick and process the coffee. Based on these, we’re looking forward to seeing what the next beans are like.
You can also rest assured that the coffee you receive is free from any flavours or artificial processing – the coffee you receive is 100% Arabica coffee with no flavours or additives. Any flavours in the beans are totally natural based on the growing and roasting process, and nothing else!
How much does it cost?
Prices vary based on your requirements, so it’s hard to say exactly how much it costs. But, compared to buying coffee from a high street chain, then it’s significantly cheaper! You can cancel your coffee subscription at any time, or change your frequency, grind and quantity as and when you need. You can also opt to pay for 6 / 12 months in advance, and save on the overall cost by paying up front.
